The Match: Ever wanted to play hockey, but without the ice, the skates, or the actual puck? Welcome to The Match. The world-famous theatrical competition format from Quebec where two teams go head-to-head under the watchful eye of a (purposely unfair) referee. The objective? Winning the heart (and the vote) of the audience with your team!

The Art of the MCThe Master of Ceremonies, commonly known as MC, is a critical role for a show to start off in the best way possible. This course dives into the key parts an MC needs for a show, from the opening of the show, to audience warm-ups, posture and movement on stage, introducing games, taking suggestions, transition between parts of the show, and how to bring your own strengths to the stage.

This course includes a graduation show after 6 weeks of classes
The BureaucracyIn ‘The Bureaucracy,’ you’ll transform the soul-crushing nightmare of red tape into an absurd improvisational epic. From ancient regulations that nobody understands to the absolute necessity of Form 42-B (triplicate, please), you’ll learn to find the high-stakes comedy in institutional insanity. It’s Kafkaesque, it’s relatable, and—unlike a real passport renewal—it’s actually fun.

Course Guidelines

  • Open attitude. Improv is about accepting ourselves and others. As such, we find it essential that our courses foster an environment of trust, honesty and acceptance.
  • Authenticity. Improv is about creating unique scenarios that simultaneously allow us to bring parts of ourselves to sessions. We encourage you to be you regardless of culture, ethnicity, gender, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
  • Togetherness. For us, improv is more fun when you share the spotlight and yes, and each other. As such, we ask you to be open to others and share the stage.
  • Commitment. We ask you to commit to the course both on and off the stage. Be on time, and let us know when you can’t make it when you are late, and if something is happening. We are always happy to work together to find a solution and help wherever possible.
  • Language English. We value our international community, which includes people from all over the world. All our events, including courses, are held in English.
